Titanium products are used throughout the dabbing scene, it is important to be educated on what you are buying for your personal health and safety beforehand. With counter fitting and lack of morals, the titanium nail market has a lot of smoke and mirrors on what is being used. This article will help you understand the importance of using trusted companies that use medical grade two titanium.
Just because it says grade 2 titanium does not mean it is safe. Grade two titanium as specific as it sounds is a very vague description of what it is. Marine and aerospace industries use grade 2 titanium for its strength and light weight. The medical field uses “Medical” Grade two titanium for its strength, light weight, and resignation with the human anatomy. Both are grade 2 titanium, however the purity of each is very different.
When manufactures buy titanium they get certifications with the material. Titanium certification forms have to declare the amount of Iron (FE), Carbon (C), Oxygen (O), Nitrogen (N), & Hydrogen (H). These amounts are needed to declare the proper ISO requirements for that material classification. Every company claims to be using grade two titanium, but is it material used in making planes and boats or prosthetic knees?
Below you can see a certification of American medical grade two titanium from a 3rd party testing company, and a Chinese aerospace certification for grade two titanium.
You can see the amounts of all the elements above are SIGNIFICANTLY different in the medical certification and the Chinese areo certification. These differences are important when you look to buy a titanium nail especially.
Chinese titanium and any other aero space or marine titanium has a lot of filler (Iron FE) thrown into it to add mass to the material and safe them money. The higher amounts of iron, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen in the titanium are what cause nails to pit, dis color, corrode, and also are carcinogenic when ingested. These signs are evident the more frequent you heat the nail and it is used.
Below is an example of titanium sourced from China. As a result, the titanium nail is completely broken down and oxidized from just 6 months of use.
Here are some signs of poor quality titanium – green coloring, flaking, pitting, white caked residue (oxidation), and popping when torched for an extended period.
In closing here are some of the brands whom we trust and know use medical grade 2 titanium: Silika, High Tech Titanium, Highly Educated, & Santa Cruz Shredder. Not all companies that are American Made use American sourced grade two titanium. There is also quartz nails that are a more natural way to enjoy concentrates.

We looked into this recently to determine the true benefits of using a carb cap when dabbing essential oils and are very impressed with the findings. The carb cap is used to create a uniform temp within the surface area of the nail surface to evenly vaporize your essential oils.
Many people don't understand that dabbing on a nail while it is red hot is not the most effective, flavorful, or proper way to drop a bhomb. When the nail is cooling from being red hot, once the color change goes from red to its basic hue, that when you want to drop your concentrate on the nail surface and allow it to pool or puddle up. Placing the carb cap over the titanium nail head will create a heated dome to vaporize the pool at the temp and speed it should be to achieve the best flavor and effectiveness.
850-950 degree Fahrenheit is the ideal temp range to use a carb cap on. They work really good when using an enail. We have just ordered new carb caps coming from High Tech Titanium which should be here in 2 weeks and for sale on TheDabStore.com shortly there after. Hope this was useful!

The past two months for TheDabStore.com have been very intense. Halloween sales, new glass artists, glass give aways, ordering our first enail… we’re making moves. We have much more depth in our selection of Steve Beer Glass pendant rigs and worked pieces. Beer Glass drip rigs and pendant rigs are very hard to keep stocked. The slyme worked rigs are quick to sell out so if you know what you want and see don’t hesitate to scoop it up.
Our friends at High Tech Titanium graced us with the most efficient and affordable dabber, The Poindexter. It is double sided, one being a flat paddle and the other a ball point. Great for shatter stabbing or wax working! We also ordered more domeless 18mm titanium nails and a 10/14mm domeless which will be here in November.
The big edition is the Honey Highve. The Honey Highve is an electric ti nail. Just flick a switch and your dabbin in seconds. We have only a few they will be available with nails, dabber, and carb cap.
We got some legit new Pendant Rigs from Silika. The 10m pendant rigs are for sale with a matching Silika 10/14mm nail. They are perfect for on the go dabbers. These sell out very fast, grab one if you are on the fence about it and see them stocked.
Hit man has gotten us some really nice glass over the last few weeks. We have Hitman Glass Mini Cakes, Baby Cakes, Double Barrel Recyclers, and Phase 2 side cars. The brilliance perk on the mini cake combined with the layered glass makes for a great little stacked. The baby cake is just as effective.

We have another company High Tech Titanium that sells a double sided dabber with a paddle on one side and a ball point on the other. We found in R&D the paddle was great for viscous or soft concentrates, and the ball point was good for harder concentrates. For $18 this is an easy decision.
Moving on to a bit more trendy and fashionable dabbers, the Corey Brazillar Designs (KillaBrazillar) Paint Brush Dabbers are hand crafted with amazing colors. He uses Pink Cadillac, Purple Rain, Slyme, Lavender, and many other unique colors for his Paint Brush Dabbers. If you are lucky we may have some pendant paint brush dabbers available. If you wear a white shirt with your paint brush dabber, you will get some dab manners real quick not forgetting to wipe!

Last week we got our shipments of the 2013 fall release of Hitman Glass. We are the 1st online head shop to have the Hitman Mini Cake Phase 2 for sale, and they are going quick!
We finally got a re-up on Sunday Cups. They have a brilliance perk going up into a turbine perk centered in the middle of the Sunday to create the perfect spiral of free flowing vapor. This rig is for those who appreciate the fine things in glass.
Additionally we got some of the new double barrel recyclers which have are a very unique take on a recycler. The twin cans horizontally stacked on top of each other, make for a very smooth draw.

We recommend using a domeless nail for the Hitman Glass Mini Cake and regular Phase 2’s because of the compactness it is much more convenient to account for only a rig and a domeless nail when on the go. All of our domeless titanium nails are American made, and fit the standard 14mm direct inject fitting these rigs have.

Batteries
The battery of a Vape Pen is often over looked by consumer AND manufacturers. The battery is so important because the level of voltage going to the atomizer has an effect on how fast the concentrate vaporizes. If the pen zaps the concentrate from high voltage its is not good for the pen or the consumer. The concentrate can splatter internally and burn out the coil due to the lack of material inside the pen.
Often people pick and scrape at the atomizer from clogs or excess concentrate material build up, which will result in the coil popping and the atomizer no longer working. Maintenance is needed to clear out this area, just do it safely and avoid the center area.
The Vape Pens with the best battery configuration are V.I. Technologies VIP Vape Pens & Cloud Pen 2.0. The VI Technologies Vape pens regulate the flow of voltage to the atomizer so it won’t burn out or break easily.
